We are a micro SME based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Our team is comprised of post-doctoral / post-graduate individuals with complementary experience in Phycology, Aquaculture, Biotechnology, Bioremediation, Food and animal feed development, and Sustainability.
Our main objectives are:
to provide the most relevant and cost-effective microalgae/cyanobacteria for diverse sustainable applications, namely as food and animal feed-additives, functional food and beverages, bioplastics, cosmetics, textiles, and dyes/pigments.
to explore and provide innovative and agile cyanobacteria/microalgae bioremediation solutions to industrial, urban, agricultural systems, as well as to help tackle natural algal blooms and other eutrophization agents
and, given the fairly recent and quite exponential growth of the algae-based markets, we also aim to actively contribute to pre-and co-normative research (i.e.PNR and CNR) for the further development and sound application of algae-specific normative measures and standards.
The STELLARIA bank of algae and cyanobacteria (S-Algae) is comprised of 47 strains, some of which likely to be proven phylogenetically unique.
We are now (re)starting to grow all these strains at lab/pilot scale and, all going well, will soon be accepting B2B orders for commercial use or for R&I applications.
We intend to apply for 'organic' certification to also provide B2C algae-enriched functional food and beverages to individual consumers from the general public.
Examples of our products: red stage Haematococcus pluvialis dry powder, Chlorella vulgaris broken cell wall / powder
